The Opala Pendant was designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1973 as part of a larger lighting series created for the Scandinavia Hotel in Copenhagen.
The series features a unique, almost futuristic expression. The Opala shades are made of high-quality polished acrylic, which emits a warm, pleasant light and softly illuminates the surrounding space through the white tone.
The acrylic shade is held by an aluminium dome (available in white or black). On the ceiling side, there is an identical dome serving as a rosette (covering the electrical feed) – the domes on both sides of the cord create an interesting graphic effect.
