The chair, with its wide, enveloping armrests, is a clear example of designer Finn Juhl’s artistic approach.
It was originally produced in Denmark and was known as the SW 86, but Juhl, who aspired to achieve international recognition, sent the drawing to the American manufacturer Baker Furniture.
Today, the chair carries the name of Mary Ellen Kittlehoit, Baker’s former marketing director, who owns the original watercolor painting of the design.
It is hand-upholstered in Denmark in fabric or leather, and its frame is available in oak or walnut.
