British designers Barber & Osgerby, in collaboration with twentytwentyone, created the Hotaru lighting series inspired by the tradition of Japanese paper lanterns. The collection is produced by Ozeki & Co Ltd – a leading Japanese manufacturer operating since 1891.
The Double Bubble model is composed of two connected spheres. Its design draws inspiration from the simplicity and elegance of traditional Japanese lanterns, blending craftsmanship with a clean, modern aesthetic.
The series was awarded the Design Guild Mark in 2022.
