British designers Barber & Osgerby, in collaboration with twentytwentyone, created the Hotaru lighting series inspired by the tradition of Japanese paper lanterns. The collection is produced by Ozeki & Co Ltd – a leading Japanese manufacturer operating since 1891.
The Hotaru Buoy model design draws inspiration from the simplicity and elegance of traditional Japanese lanterns, blending craftsmanship with a clean, modern aesthetic.
The series was awarded the Design Guild Mark in 2022.
